Max Keys: A Young Artist Inspired by Picasso

It was five years ago, during Covid-19 when Max Keys first discovered his talent and passion for the arts. While attending second grade online, his teacher asked him and his classmates to draw a realistic eye.

When keys finished with his drawing and showed it to his teacher, he received compliments. “Oh, you really know how to do art.” Keys says, quoting his teacher. Keys also remembers being one of the best out of his peers.

Something had then clicked for keys. From the age of seven and onwards he decided to work on his painting skills. “I just kept on doing it and doing it. I kept on getting better and better,” Keys says.

Throughout his journey, painting faces has become one of his niches. Keys was inspired by Picasso and his work with cubism. “I really liked cubism when I was eight, nine (years-old), and then I started getting into faces,” Keys says. Although Keys has been inspired by Picasso’s work, he has developed his own style with his face paintings.

Keys isn’t just a painter, he is a kid with other passions which include playing the piano, and acting in several different television shows. He hopes to continue his passion as an artist and continues to get better.
